Legislators voted against LD 2003, a bill that would have opened Maine’s intertidal zone to rockweed harvesting without permission of the upland property owner.
On January 11, 2024, the Marine Resources Committee unanimously voted Ought Not to Pass on LD 2003, a bill introduced by Senate President Troy Jackson. President Jackson had recently withdrawn his support for this bill (“An Act to Protect Access to Maine’s Intertidal Zone”).
